Where to find good blackjack

A map of casinos dealing the better games: 3 to 2 blackjack, dealers who stand on soft 17, double decks, low minimums. Each listing says what’s good there, where the information comes from and when it was checked. Gold pins are our listings; white pins are casinos players have added.

Rules change often. Casinos switch tables to 6 to 5, raise minimums on busy nights and pull games without notice. Treat this as a list of places to check first, and read the table’s placard before you sit. Listings are dated by their source; where a source didn’t say something, neither do we.

What makes a game good

In order of importance: blackjack pays 3 to 2 (never 6 to 5), the dealer stands on soft 17, you can double after splitting and surrender, and fewer decks. The very best common game in the US is double-deck, 3 to 2, dealer stands on all 17s, double after split. Vegas Advantage puts its house edge around 0.26%. It rarely comes cheap. For counters, add deep penetration and no shuffling machines. See Finding the right table.

Las Vegas

Sources: Vegas Advantage’s Best Las Vegas Blackjack (January 2025), and its downtown (January 2026) and Strip (May 2026) surveys. Vegas Advantage keeps full rules for subscribers; these are its free summaries.

The Strip

  • Treasure Island The cheapest top-tier game on the Strip: double-deck, 3 to 2, dealer stands on all 17s, double after split, from $50 ($100 when busy). Downtown

Downtown dealers hit soft 17 everywhere except Circa’s salon, so the best downtown game is double-deck, 3 to 2, with double after split.

  • Circa The only downtown game that stands on soft 17: six-deck in the high-limit salon. Free Bet on the main floor.
  • Plaza Six-deck and double-deck, 3 to 2, double after split, $5 to $25.
  • California Double-deck, 3 to 2, double after split, from $10.

  • Binion’s Blackjack Switch from $6 (Wizard of Odds puts its edge at 0.58%). The regular tables pay 6 to 5, and skip Bonus Spin. Vegas Advantage’s 2025 list had Double Up here; its 2026 survey doesn’t.
  • Four Queens Double Up and Blackjack Switch, which Vegas Advantage calls the best games there. Double Up is $10 or $15, and Wizard of Odds puts its edge at 0.32%, among the lowest anywhere.
  • Golden Nugget 3 to 2 double-deck and six-deck (with surrender) in the high-limit room. Avoid Lucky Cat and Bonus Spin, which Vegas Advantage calls the worst blackjack games in Las Vegas.

Reno

Source: Casino Edge, which checks casinos’ own pages and Nevada filings, checked September to October 2026. Reno is single-deck and double-deck country. The catch: Peppermill’s dealers hit soft 17, and an older reader-built chart at Easy Money Blackjack shows the same across Reno, with many single-deck games allowing doubles on 10 or 11 only.

  • Atlantis Single-deck and double-deck, both 3 to 2.
  • Peppermill Single-deck, double-deck and six-deck, all 3 to 2; dealer hits soft 17. The single-deck game allows doubling on 10 and 11 only; double-deck and six-deck allow any two cards.
  • Eldorado Double-deck, 3 to 2.
  • Silver Legacy Double-deck, 3 to 2.
  • J Resort Double-deck and six-deck, double on any two cards. Payout not confirmed: check for 3 to 2.

Mississippi Gulf Coast

Source: Casino Reports trip report by Mitch Malherbe, updated June 2026: one visit to each casino, so treat minimums as a snapshot. Several casinos deal 6 to 5 at their lowest minimums and 3 to 2 a step up.

Florida

Source: the casinos’ own table-games pages (Hollywood, Tampa), checked November 2026. They list games but not payouts or soft 17 rules, so read the placard. These are the places to find TriLux, the poker side bet: see Side bets.

  • Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Double-deck blackjack (with a TriLux side bet), Free Bet, Blackjack Switch, Spanish 21 and Super 4 Progressive. Advertises $5 blackjack daily, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at tables across from the Hard Rock Cafe.
  • Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Blackjack with TriLux, Blackjack Match Progressive and Blazing 7s side bets, plus Free Bet, Spanish 21 and Double Down Madness.

Atlantic City

Atlantic City matters to counters for a legal reason: New Jersey casinos can’t bar players for counting, though they can shuffle more often. We couldn’t find a current, reliable survey of its table rules, so there are no listings here yet.
